Why was Batman part of the “Super”friends? He was just James Bond in tights.

okay, i’m about to comic book nerd out but this is of major discussion right now as the Justice League is about to re-boot in DC comics. There is a school of thought that says the Super Friends all should have the absolute most powerful of super powers. They need to be able to fly, to be able to do intergalactic battle with major threats and so on and so forth and that, despite the fact that Batman is easily the smartest of the DC heroes, he is still just a man.
I don’t know. I think a Superfriends without Bats is pretty white bread. Bruce Wayne has always been the gullyest of heroes.

Right on earth Batman is “The Man”…see the Dark Knight Returns…he took out Superman
but yet a still he is not a SUPER…. and with the Justice League its about the intergalactic stuff…so to me Batty Boy does not fit.

let’s see….he discovered superman’s secrete identity on his 1st trip to metropolis. he can kill superman…and has told superman that he can kill him. he is the smartest freaking member of the justice league……did i mention he can kill superman…..
if you can kill superman, that puts you in the class of Supers.
